Your eyes are closed; I watch you rest.
I treasure you whom I loved best.
I wonder that our lives were such
We gave the other so very much.
You were my heart, my very soul
You made our home you were my whole.

You turn in sleep with a touch of smile
Upon your lips and all the while
I gaze at you, so lovely still;
and wish you love, I always will.
The one that took me from you, love
I have no knowing from here, above.

Your image fades, they say it does
Something about time and death because
We cannot always see our dears
for too much pain and too many tears.
But when the mist is clear for me
I send my love evermore to thee.

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Ken, this is so exquisitely beautiful...
sad and haunting...yet beautiful.
Your words of love and devotion flow onto the page.
Another keeper from you my dear friend.

Hauntingly lovely. A love like this never dies--its form may change, but it will endure the test of time and transcend across all  space. This you have so wonderfully portrayed through your eloquent and moving words.

Ken, I love the way that you wrote this in the person of
the already deceased. It really was as if a spirit was
writing it. There were some Biblical truths in it, too
(no tears in Heaven). It was beautiful, but hauntingly so.
Thanks for sharing with us.

For Mark and Noah:  Thank you for your kind praise.  For E, EA and GG, thank you for your thoughtful words.  Sometimes I look for the imagery that Nancy has mastered, but feel best with simple words.
