My Confession
By Larry Chadwick

If he must confess it,
He would let you know.
There is a certain hero,
That is admired so.

For some it is an icon,
Oh the choices of a lad.
But my choice was simple,
My hero was my dad.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Oh, yes. What a lovely poem. My Dad's my hero, too.

I understand this one Larry...and am reminded every December when his birthday comes around a few days before Christmas...were you here when I wrote my poems telling how I kept my tree up that following year (artificial)and I put all the Christmas cards, fathers day and  birthday cards that I had bought in advance for him and hung them on the tree with the angel ornaments and bows..until the following fall.
~sighing~ it's been 5 years and it still seems like yesterday.

Larry, methinks the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
