Lavender in Winter |

I watched the petals open as the sun rose and day caught its breath. A wildflower in Winter had somehow escaped a frigid death. Lavender and quite delicate, I almost picked it, changed my mind, for color in the winter is so very often hard to find. A drop of dew on petal, seemed, much like a tear, a silent plea, that I might help this flower live. Deep down, I knew it had to be. So, carefully, I dug it up, brought it inside and gave it care. I placed it on my writing desk. It still had beauty left to share. When Springtime came, a gift it gave, a living bouquet in full bloom. The little boy in me smiled, inhaled the scent that filled my room. |

Ah...and I clipped the last two roses to dry in bud form for later in the winter, to sit a pale reminder of a wonderful summer... |

a very lovely poem. I am always amazed at the azalias and the forsythias that are tricked into blooming again by one warm day or two in the late fall and early winter... wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving *s M |

(smiles) Oh Michael, this is wonderful, sweet friend, this made me cry because I could see the sensitive boy in you smiling as it truly is a blessing to save a flower, which smiles and cries just as we do! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
