somebody's dungeon

I am distressed as color
drains from my muse,
no more sunsets of amber
and honey colored hues.

The pale blue of sky
in the late afternoon,
ivory toned pictures
displayed by the moon.

Deep green of forest
after hot summer rain
with lime colored moss
on rocks of terrain.

Bright orange of monarch
amid winged ballet
in air, with a mist
that softened to gray.

All lacking the color
given freely in mind
by my muse who lately
has been most unkind.

All the pastels,
all the brights too,
I can't see them clearly
I've lost poet's view.

I place here my palette
empty of shade.
I plead of my muse,
I'm driven to beg.

Put color in pen,
so I'll write again.

Do you wish for blue
Kansas horizon's view?
Perhaps gay yellow in play
a sunflower's day...

Deep orange for the Monarch
whose swift wings have gone
or blood red in the sunset
come dusk or come dawn...

Come shop with me Rose,
your pen we shall fill
any color of choice
your whim is my will...

Anne,

Well, you  certainly put lots of color in this, in more ways than one.

I like how in spite of that which you claim you do not have, you manage for us, your readers, to receive in each poem you write. Quite talented and I enjoyed this.

Hugs and warm regards, Pat

Now, this I can't agree with because your poetry never ceases to warm me with the colours of your words. Wonderful write, enjoyed. Chris

From reading this, I think your muse has been revived.
Just keep writing and let it flow.

Hmmm, on second read - humbly suggest "Color, In Pen" for title.

Believe me when I say this, your pen could never, and will never be dry! ---and I simply love Sunshine's reply! Now that's an invitation I could never pass up! tehe

I even love your poetry when you think you are out of commission!

Thank you each and everyone who replied. This poem was written as a bit of irony actually. I was attempting to write a poem filled with color, while bemoaning my muse's loss of color. The entire poem was written in about 30 minutes time, (cause Mom just really needed to come in and speak to me every 5 minutes) and the last two lines took me most of the day to come up with. I think I added them mostly out of desperation for I could think of no way to end the poem. The idea of a pen just came to me out of the blue, and I'm not even sure why it did.

Again, thanks so much to all who commented. It is appreciated.

Cor, changing the title sounds good to me. Before I post it anywhere else, I think I'll do that. Thanks
