Soul Mates

[Terza Rima]

Accident’s meeting could well mean mishap:
But fortune’s accident, lovers might vote,
To fall fair in love, a life’s long sweet trap.

So tender, his charming heart, that she wrote
Pleasant dreams as if she might, could foretell,
’twas evidenced in her several notes.

For her lover she prized ever so well
And she his woman, his soul’s very mate
That he would follow her straight into hell

If she would but let him past hell’s grave gate
That he would trail his missing, lovely wife
His greatest fear, he would arrive too late

For one sets up their own sorrow and strife
Forgetting to give it to God, and go
Thus the barriers we may face in life

But his soul’s mate, oh he would again know
Fortune’s accident, loves soul mates in glow.
