she’s like a sea princess
floating among the tides
beautiful like a dream
of dolphins flying
out of emerald waters
playing with mermaids
whose locks shine golden
like rays of the setting sun

‘glad you came’ she said
and the cynic in me
spoke to me in cruel words
‘she doesn’t even mean it
just look into her eyes
there is no certainty there
you can see an
ever-changing landscape
of mountains and plains
in flashes of
rapid eye movement
like currents in rivers
misty with chaste froth
yet wildly tempestuous
like the eternal mistress –
time

but of course she has
these lovely eyes
where my sight drowns
deep into an unknown
as I feel my resolve break
crushing the cynic
like an eyeliner
put aside after use

and I silently smiled
hoping silence might hide
the discomforting fight
inside my head
but I am sure she would
have seen it in my eyes

wish I had been blind!

Yes, I agree....the eyes tell things that the person sometimes wishes weren't told.
But, on the other hand, eyes speak words so adequately, that otherwise would be left unsaid.
