Sleep No More
By Paul Wilson

Sleep tonight in darkness of the past
Journey back to time before
Explore visions in mind so vast
Travel to your inner core

When you were not yet born
As blood of life flowed thru your veins
To days you now mourn
Capture what part of life remains

Do not spend time or dwell
On days from within your past
Should we burn in hell
Upon our soul a spell is cast

Awaken from this restless sleep
As we dance with the devil this night
Wipe the tears from eyes that weep
As we look for a guiding light

Sleep won’t come this night
My mind is running wild
These dreams return without invite
They take me back… to when I was a child

Evil grows within thy heart
Escape this prison our goal
Memories of past now depart
Leave me empty without a soul

Take what you came for
Release me from your grasp
In my heart dwell no more
Remove the head of the asp

I guess none of us is able to sleep tonight, Paul...
It seems to be the night for nightmares...

Hey Paul,
Looks like a lot of us are on the midnight shift with you tonight.
I'm fixing to go to sleep, though.
I might better read a love poem or something first, so I won't have nightmares about demons and snakes. You sure were realistic in your descriptions in your poem.
OOOHHH, this was scary. HEEHEE!!!!

I guess you know I'm kidding. But, it really was a good spooky story. Kind of like a Halloween story.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Paul, this is soooooooo wonderfully said, sweet friend, this is very eerie and I know these nightmares as I have suffered so many as a boy and hope all of them are all gone from you now! (sad sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Paul, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Good write Paul.....I rarely sleep...there's an old Jewish Proverb that says; "If you want to see your dreams come true...don't sleep"......Now, this hasn't worked for me yet....but my mind never quits working, and I just don't sleep well....and if I were to get on this board in the middle of the night, I'd never sleep as my mind would be churning on ways to bash Balladeer or LongJohn. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to get out of bed in the morning....and that's only if you go to bed at night!!!

Oh, no, not you too! This full moon and other celestial events, i.e. meteor shower wreak havoc with my sleep and my dream life! This poem fits in perfectly! Very well done!

Noah...May all your nightmares turn into sweet dreams. The mind can be a frigthful thing that leaves scars on our hearts & souls. Little children need all the love and comfort we can give them, so that they don't have nightmares.Thank you for caring...Paul

Mr. Toe...Thank you sir for taking time from your busy schedule of harassing deer & john to reply. I don't sleep very much either, I think maybe it's because as I once was told as we get older we require less sleep, or maybe it's those afternoon naps I take everyday LOL.
I really enjoy reading all the harmless ribbing between yourself,Balladeer & Long John. Thanks for the laughs...Paul

Linda~ I didn't mean to scare you, This was just one of those weird poems that jumped out of my mind the night of the meteor storms. Thanks for reading and your scarry reply...Paul
