Death of a failure

In that last leap,from the living to the dead,
I shall not go in peace,but filled with growing dread.
Let only darkness greet me,no door or light my guide,
God let me not see or hear thee,grant that my soul and I,
Both died.

But God smiled his terrible smile,and took me by the hand.
He made me see my life again from where it all began.
And I saw anew what I might have been.
And what I truely am.

If you were writing this from a personal standpoint, it appears to me that you have been doing some soul-searching and feel that there may be some room for improvement before you reach those pearly gates.

Newsflash! We all have room for improvement!--but you are one step up from most people in that you are at least looking into what you may need to do to make those improvements! Good for you! You may be on the eve of a whole new horizon!

getting to know yourself, very important. as you've found. you have a lot of strength in that piece.a poem indicating a milestone in your life, you should treasure this one forever. very much enjoyed!
