Trembling leaves sing of the winter, but different, here by the sea. For though they tremble, they don't fall, but cling, to decorate the tree. Our streets of cobblestone don't freeze, no icy spots, that you beware. Brown pelicans rest on the dock, asleep, as if they have no care. There is no snow on Christmas morn. Sometimes wildflowers can be seen, as children play with brand new toys, racing across the grasses, green. |

(smiles) Oh Michael, I just love this, sweet friend, I wish I lived right beside the ocean, that's where I dream to live in the future so I can feel the waves tickle my toes and not worry about the ice! (big hugggssssss) This is so gorgeous, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Michael, I relate somewhat, cause we don't have much of a winter ourselves...However, our grasses do turn brown and Winter does look like it comes to visit, even if just briefly... Like the view...thank you... |

Michael - this is a truly lovely poem...you know it made me think.....it would be wonderful if I could have the fluffy, white snow that I love so much, and your winter wildflowers popping their heads up through the flakes!!!! hugs, Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

It must be a wonderful sight at the seaside. A favorite place, but I must admit I am fond of the snow...and would be longing. Best Wishes, ThisDiamond |

Auguste, this is how I remember my earliest winters...warm and calm. But that is not how I spend my winters now. It is good that people are adjustable, yes? Enjoyed this very much! |

I felt a cool refreshing seabreeze while reading. You've reminded me why I miss the ocean. Yet winter in the frozen north and now the Rockies holds much magic for me. |

"Trembling leaves sing of the winter, but different, here by the sea. For though they tremble, they don't fall, but cling, to decorate the tree." I can hear your voice, saying this You have a way of describing your home to us, taking us there, and letting us run on your beaches...thank you for the beauty of your world and for sharing it with us. |

Michael You and I may live at opposite sides, but we see somewhat the same. I loved this poem as though it was mine. |

Okay you’ve convinced me. I’m getting on a plane to see your winter. We just had snow yesterday, and I’ve had enough of it already. You’re winter sounds so much more….civilized!!! Good to read you again my friend. I do hope all is well. You can never win or lose |

OH Michael, this is just fantastic. And how I would love to be where you are and not here with our high winds, cold, sleet and snow on Christmas morning. Santa can certainly use his helicopter instead of a sleigh! Hugs, Marti "I am not afraid of STORMS for I have learned how to sail my SHIP." |

Careful, or you'll have a bunch of jealous poets on your doorstop this winter! I was raised by the sea and miss it so. I will be returning for Christmas, though - to San Diego. My favorite spot is on a crummy little pier where at the end, you are sometimes treated by the dance of schools of dolphins and the migration of whales. Corinne |

Sy, Thanks for stopping by and reading. Linda, I enjoyed your own winter poem also, thank you. Noah, Thank you! Hey, you'll live by the ocean one day, I'm sure. Magnus, Brief Winters are the best ones, lol. Thanks Nancy, Yes, it really is beautiful, but all seasons. Thanks! Lyra, The snow really is very lovely and I do miss it, but not enough to move back north. LOL! Thank you and hugs in return. Chris, That actually sometimes happens a few hundred miles north of here, because I've seen it. Hey, maybe I could just send you some of my own wildflowers for your snow. Hugs and thanks. ThisDiamond, And I would be longing to return to where I am, as I longed to move here all of my life. Thanks and my best to you also. Lady, It does get cold here, but the average Winter temperature is somewhere in the mid 50's, very comfortable. A few times during the Winter it'll reach freezing, but just barely. Stay warm and dress in layers where you are. Thank you for liking this one. Krystopher, Thank you for responding and welcome to Passions. Kacy, I once lived in the Rockies, so can relate to what you're saying. Thanks! Susan, I can hear your own voice responding just as eloqently as it just did. Thanks, sweetie. *hugs* Martie, Yes, we each have an ocean, don't we? Your climate is warmer than my own, but there's much to be said for each seashore. Thank you and hugs. Moonflower, You're welcome and thank you for reading...also, welcome to Passions, hope you make many friends here. Tracey, You know you're welcome here any time, so hop aboard that flight. *S* Yes, I'm doing well, my friend, so not to worry. I hope are also. Hugs and thanks! Deb, It's an artist's perfect canvas here. Thank you! scorpio, That's one of the main reasons for me making my move here, to get away from the cold and snow. LOL! Hey, thanks! Marti, Hey, here, Santa uses a sailboat. LOL! Thanks for enjoying this one. Corinne, We have the right whales here and I normally see schools of dolphins at least on average of every three times I take my boat out. I love 'em! *S* As for the jealous poets, they can take Tracey's plane here. LOL! Thanks, you've been missed here. |

Michael, in the part of Florida where I live, we don't have much winter, either, so I relate very much to your poem. Sometimes I think about seeing the beautiful white snow, then I start thinking of how beautiful the white sand is on our beaches here. I would like to be (visit) where there's a white Christmas. I was one time, many years ago, in Germany at Christmas. It snowed there on Christmas eve. It was just too cold to me, though. I realized that I take what is around me for granted by this poem, which I enjoyed very much Michael. Your poem also made me realize just how much I love this darn mountain again. |
