The Contrivance of Time

the calendar
says it’s Sunday
and I guess the stillness
outside
epitomizes the day of rest

but
in here
where I sit
it doesn’t feel like Sunday
it just feels like
any other day

silent
still

This made me want to pop by for a little chat over a nice, hot cup of tea--or coffee.
Unfortunately, Oregon is a long ways away from Ontario!

That would be fun EA, of course, since it is Sunday, I'll be coming to life soon and getting ready for church.

The poem stems, I'm sure, from only 1 day of work last week. I could have had a 2nd, but had an appt. so couldn't sub on that day.

This house and yard have enough to do needed for them, and I'm working on getting the ambition to start in on what seems insurmountable tasks. Then maybe a day of rest will be more noticeable.

Thanks for commenting and the lovely idea of a chat.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,

Virginia, as always with your poetry, I enjoyed it very much. It also made me want to call you up on the phone because I couldn't stop by since Florida is also a long ways from Oregon.
I'm glad that you wrote the reply to Linda. You always make your poetry seem so real to me. That's the point, though, isn't it?
Thank you for sharing your feelings and thoughts with us.

(smiles) Oh Virginia, I too wish I could stop by and visit you, yay, though Colorado also is far from Oregon, it seems everywhere is too far! (sigh) God Bless You this Sunday, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
