~*~

After a deep and peaceful sleep, I
stepped out of my lake-side cabin
into the sunlight of a beautiful
winter morning. The sparkling air
filled my senses like crisp, white
wine, and the endless sky was a calm,
unclouded blue. The pure hushed world
of winter was comforting as I savored
the peace and tranquility of a silent
forest blanketed by snow. Stately
pines, with their mantle of white,
appeared as sable-clad sentinels
guarding the virginity of this
untouched land. As I walked around
the frozen shoreline, the serenity
of the scene affected me deeply. Far
from the maelstrom of human existence,
a cleansing energy washed through me
and I began to feel renewed.

These days in the snow-covered wilderness
have had a restorative effect on me,
and once again, I am
filled with the joy
of living.

~*~

very descriptive, EA, well done

although, your description of the crispness of white wine caused me to consider how good it would be, but not for me, cuz of med/interaction.

Linda, I can feel the cold air in my nostrils and see the crispness of the day. What a wonderfully descriptive write.

There are many times I would love to run off to a cabin in the woods and stroll beside a lake and just be!

Call me if you want company!

Hugs, Marti

Linda.....
Sweet little EarthyAngel, I love the picture you painted in my mind's eye with this beautiful poem. I could see the cabin in the woods with the wonderful colors of nature all around. Kind of like looking at a  beautiful Christmas card.
It also seemed that I could actually smell the fresh morning air of the woods.
Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

Magnus  ~

The view truly is beautiful! The air is so crisp and fresh! Everything is covered in a pristine blanket of snow! As I walked the frozen shoreline my soul truly was renewed!

Thank you for pointing out that I had 2 "the"s on the 13th line, but I intentionally wrote two of them for poetic impact------NOT! tehe Thanx! Edit has been made!

Too beautiful and the ending, perfect.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

The snow is really coming down now---it's a winter wonderland out there!--and from your reply, it is in Michigan as well! At least you have a REAL fur coat to keep you warm! hehe

Linda - oh, I love this one!! We have had a couple of mornings like this here already - except for a blanket of snow - but still the air has been crisp and refreshing and makes a morning cup of tea even more delicious. Well done!! Chris
