~ By Sue ~ He was given a choice To give up his drinking Or to stay here with me He left without thinking The beer cans he would pile All around his recliner To pick up after him I was not his mother So, I made it real clear He could not drink at home Not willing to give up his drink He chose to leave me here alone It hurt so much to think Our marriage he would give up In order to keep on drinking Loving him became way too tough I hate the thought of him Drinking himself to death But there is nothing I can do He thinks he knows what's best You can not argue with a drunk Once the alcohol takes control All you can do is just sit back And watch him fall into the hole 11-16-02 |

Sue, you wrote this very well. It seems like you may be coming to terms with the descision you made concerning your husband. I truly wish, though, that he would make up his mind to give up his drinking so that you two could make your marriage work. Good luck, sweet friend. "Love makes the world go around" |

This is so true, Sue... and you wrote it so very well... I think you will be much better off without all of that alcohol around... Its just too bad that the alcohol stole him away from you. It would be great if you could get him some help... but it sounds like he doesn't want to be helped. ~ loving hugs Lyra |

Sue, darn Hon, these words are sooo wicked hard to read. But that you can now write them is a really good thing. '...I hate the thought of him Drinking himself to death But there is nothing I can do He thinks he knows what's best You can not argue with a drunk Once the alcohol takes control All you can do is just sit back And watch him fall into the hole...' Sending you a big hug today, Marti |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, my heart goes out to you, sweet friend, sadly that is true, there is nothing you can do in that situation unless he has the strength to listen and though I feel sorry for him, you did the right thing to let him recuperate on his own while wishing him the best! (sigh) This is heartfelt, sweet friend, I send angel hugs your way, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

I am not one to say "been there, done that" because it sounds too cold to me. I know where this writing is coming from and I know how hard it is to come to terms with it..that he chooses the drink over a loving relationship. Just remember the hatred in his words is really towards himself and not towards you...and his drinking is to deaden those thoughts. Hugs M |
