Flotsam

My diary shows naught of me
Just flotsam floating on the sea
A patch upon the ocean blue
A thatch that shows, but nothing new

It washes in the tide of things
A drift of dross that tolls no rings
A readjustment in an age
A speck of sand within a gauge

A poultry moment of a change
Shifting into rearrange
And I am roaring out in rhyme
This pendulum of rocket time.

I’d leave me notice if I could
A marker small of where I stood
A passing draught perhaps a thought
That will transcend the time I bought.

To all that walks upon this shore
I’ll be the underfoot of store.

If I were to count the many times
where your thoughts have crossed my mind
I must say, oh, a thousand, or more
perhaps 15,000 sands have shored

my every daily waking deed
and you have suited every need...

Congratulations, Sy, on making people very, very happy to read you, to know you, to share you...

My,  but I think the Sun is smiling today,
as are we all once we read the Sy of the
morn...  Good Mornin' Sir Sy....

And a belated,  almost,  but not too late...
Congratulation on another milestone...

What a beautiful verse, one of my favorites now. Great word usage,
Each is but a grain of sand
but you express it in so many ways
Superb poetry

Anyone walking the shore finding you a speck of sand, better have on a welder's mask, least they be blinded by the flash of your brilliance.

Bless you for all you give to us. And, congratulations.

Warm regards, Pat
