On eerie night this new moon's rise Begets the clock tower's chimed demise Upon the find of feline sleek Damsel on guard to huddle meek With crisp pressed skirt, and bustle starched Her lanterns light through midnight parched Upon the seek of feline sleek Damsel on guard faints fearful peek In fog filled steps, the docks set still Of ghostly ships, and soundless trill Upon the seek of feline sleek Damsel on guard in night search bleak He came to find a chosen prize a maiden fair of sheer blue eyes. Her quest he watched from carriage nigh in wait of then a stifled cry. The bag of black with tools of trade to carve the heart of wayward maid. A gleam that reflects of sharp steel Her doom now certain he will seal. A cloak of dark, a carriage rolls as on the pier the fourth bell tolls. His hand now sure in wait of when the blade does carve smooth ivory skin. Pulled closer on the weave of tears His eyes upon her peaks chilled fears Upon the seek of feline sleek Damsel on guard his steps now creak The eyes of cat did catch the gleen of those which dreamed of crimson sheen His heart in race to find a place to carve her soul in demon’s trace. A lunge, a parry, a gamely foe too weak to fend the waiting blow Her scream now snuffed by his hand A laugh so deep, of this he planned. Into his eyes her terror cries Pinned in his grip all inner rise Upon the seek of feline sleek Damsel to fight this demon freak The tables turn in sudden shift Into his eyes this feline lift Upon him now as Satan's foe Damsel on guard - feline Diablo Into the darkness she now runs as claws of feline his arm shuns. The race now won by her this night till gain the light wanes in moon’s light. Copyright 2002- Magnus/ThisDiamond and Diablo [This message has been edited by Magnus (11-15-2002 04:52 PM).] |

Kathy and Barry, This is wicked and evil and superb! What a combo. The frightening scenes you two created? ~very real~. I've just finished locking doors and checking windows, just in case your characters live on.. A skillfully written poem with such fine detail. In spite of fact I don't like scary poems, this would be a favorite... It is rich! Thanking you both, a great read! Warm Regards, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

For heaven's sake, don't let Long John anywhere near this...he'll be sure to declaw that feline for you... This was very good. At first I thought of Jack the Ripper...it had all of the right stuff for foggy old England... very good! Very good indeed... |
