So easy it seemed A little hill of thought In contemplation, gaining the strength To move so confidently forward Reaching the zenith You find a much greater challenge For you are just in the foothills Of such positive potential Seeing it as a piece of cake You cakewalk assertively Seeing the topping of your dessert Just over the next knoll In a new found sweat You start to realize the work involved For your vision was too nearsighted In a focus being too confident Attaining success, you soon find failure In adrenaline, you find greater pain In the need for more, you cry out But frustration become a way of life Bruising pride deflates an ego But an inner determination Drives you into the ground Realizing it must seek the horizon A hill becomes a mountain so jagged It defies logical reasoning So in celestial inner inspiration Of the spirituality of self survival You take your time to reflect Hoping for some divine intervention The mountain will always be their to climb Your faith now knows, to take its time To not be so impatient for success For it comes at different stages Sometimes when you’re least expecting it Thought: The puzzle of success should never have defined boundaries, only pieces that merge with greater possibilities. Back to the summit of the blue pages with this one, for this shows some true rock-climbing. Excellent reflection & wisdom within this outing... -MVS "AS ABOVE SO BELOW" |

I am really becoming quite a fan of yours. You touch my thinking like no other poet here. Thank you for sharing your ideas and wisdom....like a thank you, I needed that; it was a need not known until I began reading your poetry. How much better I feel for having done so, as corny as it may seem to some, my ~brain~ comes alive! Regarding this poem I liked the last seven lines which include the ~Thought~ paragraph..... Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Warmly, Pat ![]() ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |
