I was recently told you will so say goodbye And i'm trying so hard not to cry I couldnt believe when you called me and said The doctors told you had cancer & you would soon be dead And now you're telling me to say goodbye I cant say that...i dont want you to die Every fiber of my being screamed "No" I begged you tell me it was so But you wouldnt lie to me, you wouldnt hide what was true And now my everything in my life is turning blue You told me you loved me and asked me not to cry But i cant do what you asked, for your asking me to say goodbye I dont know how to tell you what I feel But believe me the tears and pain are real You've been my best friend for years you've helped me through my tears and my fears You told me today that you will soon die and I cant help you...all i can do is cry *************************************************** I was recently told my best friend has cancer...and that she's dying...and it hurts so much...because i cant do anything to stop it...but i want her to know that i love her so much...and if i could i'd take the cancer away... I'm so diane...i wish i could help...i really do...your my best friend...and you have helped me through so much...and now there is nothing i can do to help you... |

your poem is touching and your situation is so very sad. i know little of what to say except that I know a small bit of what you feel. for me it was a beloved aunt, not cancer, something else, but sudden and painful all the same. while my words are of little solace the words of a giant may be of more. below is the most famous of dylan thomas' poems. he wrote it for his father who was dying a slow painful death by cancer; may it be of some help to you and your friend. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. -- Dylan Thomas |

akira, I am SO sorry.. My grandma had cancer. along with just about every other relative i had.. But just remember.. That death sets us free. And we are always here for you. Express your feelings. And let it all out. It what made me feel better. I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait. |
