I saw Sunnyone's poem "Two Faces" just as I was about to post my own "Two Faces". She challenged me to still go ahead and post mine and here it is. She also invites others to post poems on this theme. ~~~***~~~ You are that special part of me, That no one else will ever see. The world will have of me one view, Not knowing within me I have you. You hold my private inner thoughts, Divulge my secrets? I think not, For you're a worthy trusted friend, Who'll be with me until the end. I won't bare you for all to see, It's me for you and you for me. No one will ever tap your stores, You dwell in me forever more. At times I've laughed but cried within, Or seemed so brave when I hadn't been, Appeared so sure when I've had doubt, Only you know me both in and out. As years go by my eyes grow dim, But you, my friend, my light within, Are as the day that we were born, Your face is young, but mine is worn. ~~~***~~~ |

Linda, I am so glad you posted this. This is just wonderful. This is ~you~, the real ~you~. You let your guard down telling us more of yourself. And this probably is my favorite of yours that I've read. (Of course I say that just about after each one of your poems,(smiling). It seems more special, somehow. I am assuming you are speaking of yourself. You did a great job with this. Thank you so much for sharing with us, Hugs, and Warm Regards, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

(smiles) Oh Linda, you have spoken this so well, sweet friend, we all have split-personalities and different perspectives on things and you speak of the great divide so well! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Linda, I'm so glad that Sunnyone encouraged you to post this. I would have hated to have missed it. My favorite part was... "At times I've laughed but cried within, Or seemed so brave when I hadn't been, Appeared so sure when I've had doubt, Only you know me both in and out." Thank you, sweet Earthy Angel. Linda, true friends know one another completely and never make judgement calls, just accept the differences, because it tends to make the friendship all the more interesting. A very good write and thought-provoking. *hugs* Michael The stars will shine when I am gone, |

Hi EA!! Oh yes!!!!! I'm so glad that you posted this, as it is really beautiful with such message in thought. I think that sometimes people who have never met can share the same experience at the same time, and that is what happened in our case! What a perfectly unique experience, and to connect at the same place. There's poetry in motion right there!! Loved this one, sis!!!! Pen how you truly feel... |

Well done! When one can trust oneself, that's a wonderful thing! An interesting challenge. My problem is, I don't like to read anyone's response before I make my own attmept, and darn, I had to read to understand the challenge, so I don't know if I'll try it or not. I'm afraid I'll divulge secrets my other face doesn't want out, not vice versa. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Midnitesun ~ We both thank you! If you write as well as you do now with only one muse, I can only imagine the heights of poetry you will reach if your muse's twin ever climbs on board! EA |

VAS ~ Sometimes I literally do not a clue what some poems are about so I have read the replies of others to try and get a handle on it. Then I read the poem again, have a better understanding--and appreciation--of it. I try to view the poem again with a fresh perspective. So often in the past, I have jumped right in and written a bunch of gobblygook and when I later read the author's replies, I was so far off the mark it was embarrassing! You have such a facile mind for grasping the more abstract meanings of poems and I bet you are seldom wrong in your interpretations. ~ Have a great day! EA |
