Cold Dog?

cold outside
warm in here
sitting in robe
gown
and thermals

I wanna go to church
I’m sure I do
but
wish could just go as I am
all comfy
hair mussed

dog next door
all kinds o’ energy
popping him around the yard
in his altogether
rolling in the frost
all lazy tossed

and I
sitting here
still
wiggling fingers on the keys
keeping lazy
with so much ease

wonder if...
if I could go out there
in my underwear
like dog
would I find vitality
beyond the laze
that feeds me now

guess I would
or die
of frostiness profound
“Whata hound!”
happy-go-lucky
on the ground
