I miss the memories that are no longer I miss the smiles that I cannot recall I miss that something that was The innocence The curiosity The excitement for another day But now I have seen things And I wish I could return To the days when it didn’t matter What I said or did Because I was not responsible The passion for life The amazing subconscious energy That leaked into every word I said I wish I had appreciated For no longer do things have the magic Reality is too harsh It hurts to see tears When before obliviously I would have laughed I feel the pain To each day I felt bad The insignificance it now is For others care is now so much greater And the guilt is strong for any wrong I may create I wish again Every day I live Just to be a child. That's beautiful darling - I'm glad you pointed it out to me, actually that's probably the poem I've liked the most so far of yours L.of.L. Tom . XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 'There is only a very thin line between genius and insanity, this is measured only on sucess; I am proud to be considered an under-achieving genius'. |

rm711~ This is a well written piece. I could feel the longing all the way through... the longing for the return of innocence. Very nicely done. ~Vicky "...until you have read the verse on his heart, |

Wonderful way to express childhood. Just might be my favorite out of yours, though it's extremely hard to pick. Laugh often, love much, live well. WinterWren |
