Finally I'm nearing the end of the race
Where the nice ones finish last,
Always thinking about you and me
And our memories in the past.

When I first set my eyes on you
My feelings were quite unsure.
Never would I ever have thought
Of having a love, such a love so pure.

Many of times I wanted to approach you
And for once give these thoughts a try.
I always wanted to tell you how I feel
But always been much too shy.

We soon came to know each other,
Our friendship grew so strong.
Everything was going for the best
As if nothing would ever go wrong.

Then from the distance
A face soon came to appear,
Suddenly coming to be beside you
With intentions so very clear.

You seemed to be so happy,
And smiled every step you'd take.
I didn't want to get in the way of anything,
Your heart I dare not break.

So I have come to reminisce these thoughts
Before we bid our last farewell
Of the possibilities that could have been
That one can never tell.

I've loved you for so long
Since we first met, so long ago
But now I realize that they were right,
That I've always been far too slow.

Now the doors are closing,
Our days just coming to an end.
I hope you will still remember me
And see me as a friend.

This was so sad. I know exactly what you're going through, I've been there myself.
Very nice job on this poem. It flowed just right, and expressed the emotions well.
I hope things get better for you.

This was quite sad. And in some ways I can relate. Doesn't everyone say that? LOL. But that's what poetry is all about along with other things as well, at least in my eyes. Being "shy" isn't a bad quality, but it sure does keep you back. Good work and thanks for the read! ~Jess

Getting people to relate and understand your writings feels great.  Thanks!
I was going to write more but had to go to class (got detention for being late too, oh well).

Anyways, with all the feeling put aside, this is for the one and same person that's basically the reason behind my 'works.' Those other poems I made and she, for some reason, gratefully took (and put on her binders..) were hinting towards the subject using universal thoughts.

But this one, I think, is putting everything on the field and showing my feelings since the first day we met.  That's what this really is, a summary of our entire three-year experience.  I just don't know what to do.  It's the fear of rejection that hinders us all, especially us 'shy ones' lol...

Should I give this to her as another of those poems and let it all out? Or make due with what already is and forever will be?

I have alot of regrets that I may never face down, for being one of those "shy ones".
Life is too short to sit back and make due with what already is.
Change what already is, and find out what could be.
Even if she doesn't feel the same way, you will have lost nothing. You will still be her friend.

The moment of truth and recognition will be tommorrow, her house at six, and.. yeah.  Now to get everything all figured out and ready.  Thanks again.

Whatever happens will happen and whatever doesn't we'll leave for fate to decide.
