Looking through the nighttime sky, As cars and rush and war drive by. Melancholia sits and watches Stars spattered lovingly roughly, Shaped in freedom, un touched my fear, She slowly drops a longing tear. Staring down through the clouds, At silent, painful raging crowds. Cassiopeia listens and sees Man, wasting away their years, Etched in shadow, stained by gray, She quietly waits for the day. For dawn means money, work and time, Businessmen cheating on their wives, Children tip-toeing through the streets Knowing only weak defeat. Dust and death fall quick and fast, Love and nature fade to past. Melancholia, silent and thoughtful, Cassiopeia, ever watchful, Both so different through space and time, Both so magnificent in certain rhyme. But both locked in involuntary alliance, Bound and named and chained by science. Each letter written wastes your hand young man, come lead me to your bed... |
