The dim romantic lighting - Couples softly speak. As he sits across from me, I wonder what he sees. And I'm not even listening To what he's telling me - For every time I meet his eyes, The green that sparkles life, I can't help but think of you - Your eyes were laughing turquoise, too. And now you seem so far away - So far away from you. And dim romantic lighting Is only for a night - But the love I had for you Will haunt me all my life. Why do I still close my eyes, Pretend it's really you... Years since your lips first brushed mine, Perhaps romanticized by time, But love too deep to quite let go - Do you know I'm still here waiting, Waiting for the day you come Back to life and back to me, Take my heart and set it free. Because you're there in every thought, And you are everything I want, And someday, will you come for me, Your eyes the color of the sea? |

I know exactly how you feel. Ever since I broke up with my boyfriend I've been waiting for him to forgive me and take me back. I love him. |

"Your eyes were laughing turquoise, too. And now you seem so far away - So far away from you. And dim romantic lighting Is only for a night - But the love I had for you Will haunt me all my life." I love this poem. Much kudos and roses and kisses for you. I sympathize... and I hope your soul finds peace. jaime. the faeries creep into my hair at night leaving it in terrible knots |

This was an amazing piece! I have to agree with Jaime, that being my favorite part. I haven't read something romantic in ages, and I'm glad to have read one from you. Great work! ~Jess "At the touch of love, everything becomes a poem." -Plato |

mmm...*hugs self and sighs* I really liked this one, it was beautiful and romantic in a sad kind of way that made you just want to say aww and go curl up with a teddy bear. Silly I know but thats what came to mind. The imagery is so captivating, very well done an overall stunning write. ~Live and Laugh~ The problem with resisting temptation is you never know if you'll get the chance again |
