That window, Little blonde-haired girl, staring out, Wistfully. Will you see eternity in the clouds? She keeps looking, Oblivion shrouds her blue-gray eyes. Hazy, Their lucidity contained by this era of time. What do these skies of sapphire Speak of? Blessed longings, Bottled in the palm of your hand? I see enthrallment Etched through innocence as You clasp the air around you Freely Infinity falls She sighs as silence fills her mind No one, No one anywhere senses the rapture Of finely sprinkled tears Why do you cry, little one Beautiful flower of these tragic years? The whole world is in These heavens If you try hard enough Can you break them apart, piece by piece To die Landing upon your rosy lips? Whilst cherishing cerulean bliss, She will cry A fragile drop of crystal Poignant Holding all the clarity of eventide Marred with her fading sun Anguished child O you elegant dreamer, How do you drift in the angels' midst? Spun and woven Hanging by a thread of silken life Velvet A frailty only touched in the outlines of a reverie Come and disappear with me She drowns Finally tangled in the fingers of this glass Delicate brutality Soothing all woe within her troubled soul Young and softly dying She's yearning to sleep in between brevity Forevermore This is her childhood paradox Untwining Pacified by the half-lit sky Can you find peace Eternally, Drinking in the dusk as your lullaby? For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, |

Honestly, i was impressed. Perhaps making it more concise...but that's just a pet-peeve. I enjoyed reading it. "Our child is in your hands |

Speechless. You've left me speechless. I'm not quite sure which word I would use to describe this poem. Magnificent, elegant.. simply beautiful. This is probably my favorite of your poems. ~Angela |

Damn good. This is one of the best poems I've read in Teen 6 in a while. There is a delicate but prounouced maturity in the poem, along with a soft elegance and dreamful longing and desire that is poignant. It is powerful, it is moving, and it is good. Well done, poet. I was curious, are you the girl in this poem? And if not, is the death symbolic? ~Titus The few. The proud. The Marines. |

Oh, I wish I had more time to do individual replies. Alas, I do not..but thank you so much, everyone! And to PoetryIsLife~This poem was not based off of me originally, since the inspiration came from seeing my friend Aimee in the reflection of the bus window...but I'd say that yes, a small part of me is this girl. I think that I feel what she is feeling in this poem quite often. I dont remember very well, but I think the death was symbolizing the quiet demise of my soul that I felt vaguely last May. Hope that helps. For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet" [This message has been edited by IndigoEve (07-26-2003 10:26 PM).] |
