Change The Story

If I did not act then,
Even after how long it's been,
Can I do now what I should have before?
Am I even allowed to love you anymore?
No, I'm not, and I shouldn't even asked.
I believe my window of opportunity
Has already long past.
For anything I've done wrong, I'm sorry.
But could you please change this story?

I really wish I could turn back time.
To change this story.
To undo my insideous crime.
To do now what I had to do then.
I swear to never make this mistake again
If you just accept me now
And do not think of me as foul.
And for that I am sorry.
But could you please just change this story?

Run that past me one more time.
I missed the part that makes this all fine.
Run that past me one more time.
Tell me just what is the bottom line?
What am I supposed to do?
Am I even supposed to try?
Try to make things better?
Try to make things right?
If not, please tell my why.

YES! YES! YES! The questions are beautiful. The last stanza drew me in harder than the whole piece. What more? What else? When? Where? How? Why? Very good. *Golfers clap*
