in the pouring rain

protecting the tears i shed long ago
with a silver rain kiss upon my lips
colored ruby by my grandmother's lipstick
eyes have been painted over and over
with criss crosses and water
dripping off my lashes
directed upwards, i think of all the times
that my innocence saved me

Although I've never been found of lipstick. I must admit the way you transposed the innocence to makeup is very inspiring. I'm impressed. Innocence is soo tender, if we could always keep it.
