So I wrote this poem for all you people out there, including myself that feel like no one understands their life. For those who put on a smile everyday, but are dieing inside. Tell me what ya think, comments are always much appreciated!!
These problems all so silent
Drifting through our heads
Without another soul to tell
To darkness we’ve been led

These haunting problems linger
For only us to hold
With the pain deep in our hearts
Our burdens left untold

We’re left to deal with life
Face our greatest fears
Deal with what fate’s given us
Wash away our tears

We reminisce the forgotten years
Through the dead of night
We pray to God to take this pain
To help us win this fight

A mask of joyful feelings
A smile to light the room
Who knew our lives were endless
Filled with haunting gloom

The problems all unfold
Expand as time goes on
How do we explain to them
Our happiness is gone

With silence all around us
No one there to tell
They see us on cloud nine
While our lives are living hell

"For those who put on a smile everyday, but are dying inside." Yes I know how that is, I live with that mask.
And I must say, this poem puts it perfectly.
I really couldn't have done it better myself.
I think I love the 5th stanza best.
Excellent, excellent job!
Thank you for sharing.
It's going in my library.

That's officially my favorite of yours.

It flows perfectly... I love it. As for the theme... yep... I feel that way quite a bit.

Thanks for the responses guys...I am glad you liked it, but at the same time I am sorry that you can relate, it's comforting to know there are others out there like me, but I feel bad, because I don't wish that upon any one! I hope it all works out for you guys..and thanks again for the comments!!
