Missing: A little girl… I know I saw her not long ago, Rabbit-teeth, scruffy hair, Chubby cheeks. Without warning she disappeared, I didn’t see her go til She was gone. She rode imaginary horses, In the Olympic games, jumped To the top on spindly legs, Flying, so free. Where did that little girl go? I wish I’d held her hand When she flew. She flew away suddenly, Was she an angel in disguise? Or just a little girl in love With life and laughter. Champion gymnast, witch, Flower fairy, teacher, Little girl. Now all I see are the tears She cries, no one wants to play, The horses have been retired, Dancing in dreams, And she has gone missing. I’ll never find her again, Lost girl. If you see a little girl, Playing in other spheres, Take pity on her soul. Endless games have ended. Little girl lost in one Who will be a woman Of twenty. ----------------------- *It's odd when you realize that a part of you is gone forever although she is forever within...this poem made sense to me when I wrote it, but don't worry if you think it's a load of nonsense, it's quite possible that it is * "Gorge the honey from life, and live through the stomach aches knowing they will pass..." ~Liz Pinard 2003~ |

wow... this is so... ummm accurate? to growing up.. hit the pangs so well.. what u lose when you're an adult.. but u know what? even an adult still has the child inside.. just have to allow her access to the world outside, or even let her roam in your mind. laurie. |

Indeed, realizations such as this can be mind-boggling. Beautiful work, Elizabeth. I enjoyed this. I hope to read more soon! --Marie "You can be idealistic for all of ten seconds before you die." (Imitation of Life) |

I'm only 15 but I've felt that way before. It's like a piece of me is lost forever, even though it's still there...I can't explain it, but I know you know what I mean. ::Jen:: |
