Ocean Of Tears

0 posted 2003-05-28 10:08 AM

I wrote this poem about my Grandma, she died about a week ago. Just thought I would put this little comment in for everyone's 411!!

Oh, how I wish it would rain,
To wash these tears away,
So many I've cried since you've been gone,
No longer will I see you flash a smile,
At least during my time here on Earth,
But surely when I leave,
I will see it once again,
How dearly you are missed,
I cannot even put this into words,
How indescribable this sorrow is!
Yet another day passes,
Each without you.

Here comes the rain,
To finally wash away these tears,
Now, I no longer need to cry,
Because I know you're still here,
The presence of your spirit,
Is all I can have,
So that is more than enough for me.

"What I am is good enough if I would only be it openly."

Sorry to hear of this death of a loved one...I wish you and your family the strength to come through the bereavement ok, though I know it won't be easy. This is a lovely expression of feeling.

The death of any loved one can be tough. Sorry you have to go through this. I hope this poem serves as some sort of closure. If not, then keep writing.. looking forward to more.

Wow, Jess...nice job. I meant to read this quite some time ago...and I wish I would have sooner. This is a beautiful poem, just like all of your writing.

The passing on of a loved one is always hard...but the important thing to remember is...she's no longer in pain. She's not suffering anymore...she's just peaceful. And just because she's gone physically, doesn't really mean she's gone!

Once again, beautiful write, absolutely beautiful.

As I smile at everyone else, I'm dying inside... ~Me
