One-Sided

There were days wasted,
Thinking on you.
You've my love not tasted,
Nor seen what what it can do.
You've never heard me when I cried,
Nor smelled the scent of my rose,
Nor felt the pain I've had inside.
I feel now like I'm a thorn in your side.
You've never known,
How far it's went,
How much it's grown,
Without your consent.

That's why I feel this way,
It's all in this cursed game we play.
But before I knew it,
The game was over.
They say, "Forget her,
You should now know her."
I can't win, but I can't give up,
Even though I've almost decided,
Maybe my love is one-sided.

When I run my hands through your hair,
Outside in the slight breeze,
Where we get planty of fresh air,
I feel my spine freeze.
Bliss to a high degree.
But then I wake,
Knowing things are never what they seem,
Knowing it's all a dream.
I always hope it comes true,
And I think you don't.
My chances are far and few,
Inside I know it won't.

That's why I feel this way,
It's all in this cursed game we play.
But before I knew it,
The game was over.
They say, "Forget her,
You should now know her."
I can't win, but I can't give up,
Even though I've almost decided,
Love cannot be one-sided...

I can really connect to whats going on in the poem.

Petey-

Sounds like a song to me. If it's not, it should be, based on the way it's written (format and all). Really enjoyed this one. I don't think I have anything to say about this other than you did an excellent job on expressing the way you feel in a context many of us can understand.

And yes, much like any kind of relationship, love cannot be one-sided.

I encourage you to keep writing, and don't forget to check out the other poets here. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you as well!
