Six going on twenty two
Disillusioned by her colouring books
And lincoln logs
Glued to that television set
Of disappointments
Mesmorized by the commericialized promises
Nobody ever told her
That she'd always be running from the shadows
Nobody ever told her
She'd always require a night light
In the middle of the day
To protect her from
The demons
That rape her of her innocence..

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.

Wow...  Not sure what to say or think about this one.  It was really deep...  Almost beyond my comprehension.  Lincoln Logs are the best, just to let you know.  I really enjoyed the poem, and I think I'm gonna have to read it again to make sure I completely understand...  Thanks for sharing!

this really isn't typical of your stuff but it was really, really good...just different style than I'm used to from you..

Be it in the truest form, or a desperate lack thereof, fail not to understand that the inspiration is love.

Oh how often have I felt that way...

Wow. It's deep. And quite interesting. I especially like the last line.

Oh and to whoever said it, I agree, Lincoln Logs are the best...ahh the memories.

To hate you must first have loved.
