It's Not My War Mindless destruction... leads to people suffer'n, and a nation now crumblin. Bombs flying in... which nation will win? It seems to have no end! Amidst all the confusion, both nations are loosin, but still we are choos'n to add to confusion... justifying a reason to fight! M.P.D. |

It is very sad, isn't it? You are right, there really are no winners when humans constantly 'fight' for peace. Perhaps your generation will discover another method of dealing with world problems. |

Kahlil Gibran once said, "Safeguarding the rights of others is the most noble and beautiful end to a human being." War is unavoidable. But on the other hand, you have the right to express your opinion. And you did it well in the form of poetry. ^~Whoever does not love his work cannot hope that it will please others.~^ Unknown [This message has been edited by FlyingCloud (04-30-2003 05:33 PM).] |

I sick of this stupid war too! As far as i see we're nothing but terorists to. We are going over there and killing all of those innocent people that didnt have anything to do with 9/11. love this... Tori ![]() |

Ok I think I agree with you. I'm not sure I just kind of choose to live in my own world where I basically ignore politics but it is useless to kill all those people. Good job on the poem as a by-the-way. "life is crazy sometimes, and you can't do anything about that. Just hang on tight and enjoy it. If you have to scream sometimes, just don't cry" |

very true... reminds me of a comment by b3 in carryl churchill's "a number" "nobody ever says 'we're the bad guys! we're gonna beat some **** out of them lot!' " going off subject... a very nicely done short poem ![]() "more than yesterday, less than tomorrow, i love you" |

This is a very depressing poem. I don't normally like to read anything about the war, it depresses me. But this...I think this really captured the pointless stupidity of the war. Nice write. As I smile at everyone else, I'm dying inside... ~Me |

A sad thing to write about, yes. Especially when I'm sure so many here are affected by the war in one way or another. You wrote about it beautifully. Sylistically, the rhythm and texture was awesome! I was truly inpressed. As for the content, I think you're absolutely right. Hang in there... --Marie "You can be idealistic for all of ten seconds before you die." (Imitation of Life) |
