Through the eyes of a teen Love is but lust It’s a game of catch and release Their heart is hurt but never broken Their feelings never cease Their hearts are surrounded They know not how to deal How can they love another Their emotions carry no seal They forfeit life as a teen To give themselves away Never stopping to live the moment Or live life day to day Trapped behind society And the judgement of their peers They suffer through the pressures And smile through all the tears Love can not be sought out When you find it you will know Teens are simply puppets In a frightening horror show Love to them is all built on looks And the kindness of their mate They leave nothing to the imagination Or the tender hands of fate **It's better to be hated for who you are, than loved for who you are not** |

Well...I don't agree with what you said in the context of the poem but that is just a personal opinion. All told the poem was well written and showed good emotion throughout! Nicely done ~Live and Laugh~ Always strive for excellence never perfection. |

I really liked that poem, I agree with a lot of it, but I also think "love" is a good part of being a teen because if you have someone that you think you love and trust it makes it easier to live through the day, but it can also be very painful and pointless as you expressed in the poem. ~*~Karen~*~ |

"They leave nothing to the imagination Or the tender hands of fate" That's really really good. The only thing I can think would kind of change the mold of the poem would be not to use the word "teen" so much... just because it's kind of a slang-ish term and upsets the flow a little. However, this poem doesn't claim to be the explanation of fate and love but only a description of what exactly and how little teen love means. Whatever you want to do with it... ![]() [This message has been edited by OtherSideOfTheMirror (04-18-2003 11:09 AM).] |

"And smile through all the tears." Really enjoyed this! And being but 16 myself, I can really relate to this. I think you did a good job with the entire poem. Especially the rhyming scheme! Nice work! As I smile at everyone else, I'm dying inside... ~Me |

Thanks guys for the comments...I am sorry if I offended anyone with what the poem is saying about teenage love, but from my experience I found this to be true!! Jenn **It's better to be hated for who you are, than loved for who you are not** |
