i can't stop hiding

I always seem
To lose my life
Drowning in
Pain and strife

Looking ahead
But seeing behind
Wondering every step
But know what I will find

Trying to get help
From everyone I see
But in them
Only trying to find me

Pushing each person
Into my place
And hiding them from
My real face

Running from
A nameless fear
I have to run
Away from here

I had the visual of a hamster running on one of those wheel thingies. I like this much because it touches on a favorite topic of mine--the fight-or-flight syndrome. (I've battled probs with anxiety and depression my entire life.) But yes, when the adrenals kick in, and there is no physical release of that energy, it can often does turn inward, converting itself to the inner anger of depression.

Not sure if that was your intent with all of this, but it certainly described the process well.

Enjoyed this journey through your mind.

(sigh) Oh Matt, I think so many fears come without identities but sometimes, running doesn't help and we must be acquainted with them so then we don't have to carry the burden!
