This is based off of a dream I had... It could probably still use some work and could also use a title. A doll lies at my feet Once beautiful and happy, Now lonely and broken. She was surrounded by love in her perfect world But now all of that is forgotten. She lived the life that many wanted But it was that life that betrayed her. No longer was she wanted Disgarded and thrown away Like some piece of trash. Her own protests didn't seem to matter. False hopes and broken promises Led to her demise. Chained to the demons of her mind, The corpulant fiends That fed her poisonous words... Words that she has a greedy hunger for Hoping somewhere among them she's done something right. Destroyed internally by constant failure, Never being exactly what anyone wanted. She's not good enough because of something As simple as hair or eye color. She was never quite desirable enough to win the hearts of many... And of those who happened to find her desirable She found a way to ruin everything. All of this led to her fall Into this pit of despair Where she lies now inside, Bleeding from having her wings clipped. Her shellacked face looks so sad, Never to smile again. As I picked her up from the floor Her face cumbled to pieces at my touch, Shattering into tiny shards as each piece hit the floor, And it was only when I noticed The mirror side underneath, Did this doll truly reflect me. |
