It invaded my days It refused me sleep at night I thought it was the answer Little did I know I would immerse myself In something that caused So much pain To myself My family My friends It changed me into a monster It made me not care No one could tell me I was addicted I lived in a world So unlike mine I should have known That first taste Would throw me down And hold me there Until I couldn't hear them Telling me I was sick Telling me they loved me It lied to me And told me it was all I Needed But when I finally heard my self Say "Just one more" I knew I felt I saw That it was destroying me I cried myself to sleep that night.. |

This is written about drug use...(coke in general)...Horrible, horrible memories. [This message has been edited by pearl6884 (03-24-2003 03:47 PM).] |

This is a very strongly written poem, I'm so glad to hear you finally realized what it was doing to you and stopped. It's good to know that you have that strength inside of you! XoXo Love Alwayz XoXo |

We all do stupid things. I like your poem. It shows that you have character and a strength of will that is rare. Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks to everyone who read this...It's a very personal piece and I'm glad that I could share it with you... *To see the world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower...Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour...* |
