Standing In Silence...

Crumbling pieces of ash
drop to the cold earth
I watch it fall

Drain the last remaining
happiness from its soul
I watch it cry

The darkness was its burden
It will never be free
I watch it struggle

It looks to me for help
hidden mysteries in its eyes
I watch it suffer

It shall forever remain locked away
It cannot fight any longer
As I watch it still

Nothing left to live for
it slowly gives in to the pain
I watch it die...
