“Have faith,” they say “And live God’s will
And you will see the Gates,
A lifetime full of piety
Brings peace to he who waits”

Spend fourscore years (Well, give or take)
On a tiny, spinning sphere
And thou shalt be rewarded
By the Cosmic Engineer

With an eternity of harps and wings
And singing seraphim
For living just like Jesus did
And loving God like him

But life itself is transient
And the universe extends
Past lakes and moons and galaxies
Past the darkness with no end

And our time alive is but a spark
In the fire of evermore
And when we’re gone that ageless flame
Endures just like before

So why should we, as tiny specks
Anticipate rebirth?
With all the beauty that surrounds
Our heaven’s here on earth

Very book worthy piece, and your last line speaks volumes to those who will listen.  Great job!

I don't agree with this, but the poem itself is quite good and has my vote.

Amen. I think you have more than enough spirituality to go around, if this poem is anything to go by.

thank you very much.  i honestly have no experience with writing poetry.. but I've been inspired recently on a couple occasions to express what I was feeling, and I guess you could say I surprised myself.
