Hey all, this is a real life describtion, of things happening in my life and in my minds...please tell if it's too much. thanks! Best Wishes, Brian. "(He Was Me) Without Being Me" © 2003 -02-16 (00:45) Brian Eggertsen, All Rights Reserved Verse 1 The man in the mirror always cried, saw the blade as an epiphany, Watched the blood flow with shaky hands, but could he end his misery? Take his fifteen minutes of fame and maybe a headline or two? Flashbacks of the people he loved convinced him he could make it through. With praying hands, knees bend, will God take him under his wing? If Jesus was his son, how will he treat the love he brigns? He says: Forgive me Lord for I've sinned. It was me but then again, no. Will you lend me your ears? Nonetheless here's how the story goes... Refrain He walked the same sole, talked the same language, Enjoyed the same friends, was almost perfect. He was me without being me. He wore the same clothes, mourned the same father, He wrote the same songs, my best friends partner. He was me without being me. Verse 2 These last couple of year's been an alternative reality, The pain felt like a straight jacket, and grieve turned to insanity. Used to lean on bad company, the Devil's not as "great" as he seem. Done a lot of ****in his life, it's tough when you think it's all dream. Visit his father's grave, to apologize for his ways. He's searching to be free, to catch up with the brighter days. He says: forgive me dad for lacking. I'm sorry for losing my head, And lessons you taught me. I never intended to forget... Refrain Bridge If he could fly he'd flown a long time ago. If he could fly he'd flown a long time ago. If I could fly I'd flown a long time ago... But now I have to keep fighting, fighting for myself and my life, Pray the things I do I do right beginning with the man inside... Refrain |
