I went all out did my fingers and my feet I even went on a shopping spree I wanted to be so pretty my hair was so soft I let it down for once put some bronzer on my cheeks looked like I was out in the sun wore some nice clothes a pretty pink lacy shirt finished the outfit with a short black skirt I grew 2 inches with my new black boots decorated my ears with some golden hoops I got all done up put some shimmer on my lips I couldv'e spent all day dreaming of his kiss but when I found out he had let me down my heart dropped to the ground and bounced back into me I couldn't even breathe I thought that he cared I thought I was loved I guess thats what girls get when they think too much Now my hairs pulled back natural colors on my cheeks nails are short from biting and I havent painted them in weeks clothes are back to normal casual and neat I threw the boots in the closet Now theres sneakers on my feet took the hoops out now my ears are bare dont feel pretty and I dont even care |

Personally, I prefer the "casual" look... I don't like girls to get all dressed up jus to try to impress me or whatnot... Natural looking, not covered up by inches of makeup... Anyway, I could feel the hurt in this piece... Well written, I liked it. Thanks for sharing. - Cody - |

I love the way this read. It was great how I could picture you getting all dressed up and then stripping yourslef again. Ya know, I'm a girl that prefers the casual look as well. I've never worn make-up a day in my life (aside from lipstick) and I wear comfortable clothes. But I know exactly what it's like to want to impress a guy. But what I've learned is, I guy is going to like you for you. For they very rarley get all dressed up for us. Just food for thought. -AB "Whatever you are doing, love yourslef for doing it. |

Hey, wow, nice as poem. I'l have to agree with Cowboy that casual is much better. Being a teen myself I have been through this and I can relate. I think that if someone dosn't like u for who u r when u feel most comfortable, then they really arn't worth it. Just be who u r on the inside and that will show on the outside. Great poem u rock!!!! **Topsy** |

This flowed very well and I can really relate to it. Nicely done. I was once told that you should try and relate it to your audience/reader. Good job and keep writing. Andrea |

My opinion the casual and natural look are ok, but thats not the point. Its taking the extra step to have a guy look at you and just be like "damn" knowing that his eyes are gonna be all yours. And getting that compliment that will boost your self esteem just a little bit more. This poem reminds of one night when I was with my ex, I got all dolled up to go to a wedding with him and all he was able to say (his exacts words about how I looked) "ok, I guess". Im really glad that you shared this poem with us, I was able to relate to it soo much and I look forward to seeing more of your work. [This message has been edited by Erin (02-04-2003 03:34 AM).] |
