I sing of my life in Illinois. ...of white winters, burning snow swallowed by the summer sun. ...of friends and family together. I stand outside and look back now. I sing of carelessness, relaxation, and relief. My peaceful world. ...of feeling comfortable, in my place, no worry of being rejected or losing lifelong companions I sing of abrupt change. ...of being pulled out of my fantasy world. For my life was headed towards wrong - but my eyes didn't see. I sing of my thankfulness; my parents saw. They brought me to this place. A place where even I worry ...of losing friends for lack of history. I know now I never belonged there. A new song plays in the distance singing of high school memories and happiness inside That song is entitled "Song of Florida" with melodies of my new life. (copyright 2002) |
