In the sorrows of life Tears still cry in pain Hearts still break beyond endurance Storms of gravity flatten your purpose To the point, it is no use to get up Gloomy days pass gloomier shadows So thick that the inner fog chokes Losing yourself within the jungle of feelings Knowing no direction that would even matter Prayers are offered on the radio Preaching so hard that they miss the point Then asking money for their ministries When all you need is someone to talk to Boxed in with no way out The room gets smaller than ever possible The suction of the drain is vacuuming you down Into the void of an existence With the game over you resign to the fact Wanting to never fight again But fight you must Clawing for every inch of respect Bleeding so profusely That the blood carries you forward Against all the gaming odds Scarred so bad that thorns do not hurt In pain so excruciating that it must come In the numbness of no known reason You scream from deep within the torture You inch your way up on pure adrenaline From where it came only few know Exhausted you rest against a crutch Of a visionary that blinds your sight My child whose soul has given out Reach for the stars Even if you can not see them Your champions will soon appear in awe In disgust others still talk But in quieter refrains For those that wished you ill Have somehow turned People start to assist you With backward hands For their sights still will not see you But their faith is hoping yours succeeds For it seems that people Will always respect the impossible Betting on odds so improvable Seeking miracles from insurmountable obstacles As a poet I have taken you full circle Within the reality of life So when you take thing for granted Remember those whose thorns Have created miracles Thought: It is sad we are trapped by our ways to accept thing at face value. There's lots here, lots of pain, but this line, indescribable! The suction of the drain is vacuuming you down Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
