Early Autumn Garden caterpillars cling atop spindly spindles waving, dancing, pirouetting in the breeze and in the leas they drink in a bit too much sunshine and in their stupors wave and wobble above the earth till breeze slows and they seek equilibrium as if they’ve disembarked the carousel or downed a fifth of vermouth and lost their couth while lamenting they’re just weeds who’ve gone to seed flailing in the breeze ©September 1, 2002 watching the grasses in my flower bed, the ones that planted themselves and survive heartily above the pink petunias and beside the ferns their fuzzy heads look so much like caterpillars clinging to green poles Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

I truly enjoyed the imagery and the feelings that the images elicited in me. The mood was so comforting. This poem is a keeper for me. I think you would enjoy my poem SUMMER DAYS, currently on page 14 (and dropping!). We seem to see nature with the same eyes. Linda |
