Beside a lake on a summer's eve I sit and ponder and thus perceive An inner peace that pervades my soul As nature's beauty makes me whole The water lapping at the shore Seems so simple and yet it's more The rhythmic motion ebbs away The pain inside for another day The scent of pine does fill the air The fragrance of lilacs is everywhere As I breathe deeply, I feel renewed As the essence of nature lifts my mood The calls of the wild are music to me As frogs and crickets sing in harmony And then the cry of a distant loon As a lonely wolf bays at the moon The shimmering lake reflects the light Of moonbeams as they pierce the night Bathed in moonlight I feel aglow As my love for living begins to grow I feel God's presence 'round 'bout me As I lean against this willow tree And gaze upon this lovely scene With inner peace--at last serene [This message has been edited by Earth Angel (08-29-2002 04:42 PM).] |
