Now in the twilight's lingering the poet's world stands still. It's not quite day and isn't night, a void, confused to, fill. He trembles within jaded thoughts, now knows hope but a lie, that dreams are chased by foolish men. We're born that we may die. The ebony of idled heart, that light cannot pervade, as silver, salty droplets fall, on life's decisions made. |

I like this. It does make me think. I am reminded to remember we only have today and to "try" (easier, said than done), to live in the "now".... Blessedly, I no longer take my mistakes as seriously as I used to. I am forgiveable, as is everyone else. I just don't choose to feel mortifyingly embarrassed for bad judgements I make.(quite often) See, this great poem got me thinking! Forgiving ourselves, tough to do but imperative to feeling happy. I continue to look for your poetry, you never disappoint the reader. Thank You Pat ![]() without surrender, be on good terms with all persons... |

Hello: A different quality to this piece than most of your work. Some regret, sadness ever so subtle. Sometimes I have found the best idea is to live day to day...of course there is revision...moment to moment. All we have for certain is this moment. Making the most of it. ThisDiamond |

![]() (big hugggssssss) Oh Michael, this felt sad but also filled with so much imnportance, sweet friend, sometimes dreams can bring out the worst in us when we traipse after them foolishly without much heart yet some dreams are bound to come true if faith is held dear to to avoid that kind of self-destruction! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Michael - Your words continue to amaze me and often bring a tear to my eye. Bless you dear poet. Chris ![]() Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

Michael sometimes I wonder if you know just how much you touch something inside of the reader...this is heartfelt and wonderful. If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream... |

"The ebony of idled heart, that light cannot pervade, as silver, salty droplets fall, on life's decisions made" --I absolutely loved that verse! And the rest of the poem as well. You are a skilled poet...you can say much without using many words. I greatly admire that. ![]() *Krista Knutson* |

Nancy, It's always a delight to see you posting on one of my poems. Thank you, my friend. Interloper, Yes, indeed! Thank you for stopping to read. Susan, Angel being touched, sweetie. Thanks! Pat, I suppose, forgiveness of self is the toughest of all, but certainly very good for the spirit. Thank you for continuing to read my work and for your sincere replies. ThisDiamond, There is much truth in your wisdom, as I found out all too well this year. Thank you! Noah, I was being very cynical in this piece, even angry, as people often are when they're hurt, but in all honesty, it is never foolish to chase a dream. It is foolish not to do so. God bless you, my friend. loner, Thank you. It's good to see you back. Ethel, I enjoy yours also. Thank you much for reading. Chris, What a kind thing to say and thank you for the smile it just brought. Bless you also! Tier, You're sweet! Thank you for the nice words and for visiting. Donna, I do hope my poetry touches something inside the reader, even if it's only one. I believe the best poetry is written through life experience. Only then can we really feel the "heart" of the poet within the poem. Thank you and God bless. Alwye, Usually I have to use ten words when only two are enough, but thank you all the same. LOL! And thank you also for the compliment. It's much appreciated. Lauren, Though raining here, it was also a beautiful day. Thank you, sweet friend. *hugs* |
