Tell me a story
one I'll never forget
a story of a time
when you and I first met
long ago way back in time
many moons before
a love story, a tale of love
one that will be remembered forever more
I long to hear that story
the way you remembered it to be
the story of two lovers
the story of you and me
whisper in my ear
all those forget-me-knots of time
the flowers smelled so lovely
the roses sent with rhyme
you always said
"precious words should be said with passion"
which is why you told me you loved me
in your very own fashion
you sent to me a posy
all tied up with bows
and in amongst the flowers
the poem you did compose
the words were ever so beautiful
they melted my heart in two
and from that first love poem
my heart surely knew
that we belonged together
your words they did inspire
they filled my heart and soul
with an everlasting desire
forever in love
forever our love will be
our love is one word
our love
