Asleep in her straight back chair
Dreaming of being Agatha Christie
Coffee mug on temporary vacation
Beneath the warm watts
Of an antique Tiffany Lamp
Siamese cat
Stretched out
Purring on her lap
All while she's caught up
In her dream state of mind
Conjuring, playing out
The scenes of the book
That now is at rest
Propped up between her breast
And Siamese cat
Racing through chapters
Meandering through pages
Falling victim to punctuation
Twisting into
The spell of Agatha Christie's
Woven mysteries
In her straight back chair
Resting her eyes
By her antique Tiffany Lamp...

This seems rather like a painting, a Matisse, I believe.

Lovely imagery.

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Ah, painting with words. This was fun to read and visualize. Liked it a lot.
