Ducks at Play

Across the way
there’s ducks at play
well, not really my friend
they’re made of clay.

Mama leads the pack of three
babes of yellow and mellow wings.
She’s tall and white,
they’re quite a sight,
marching through the day.

Of gaining ground
there’s not a sound
if they should move
I’d be tether bound
in a coat of white
at an awesome sight
blubbering my days away.

For with feet of clay
and noggins, too,
they’d make me balmy,
thoughts in a zoo,
if they should really go.

For west they face,
yet not a trace
of steps they make
nor tail they shake
for clay just will not show

a flitter or flutter,
a spitter or sputter,
it just stays in place
locked in a race
with eternity’s ebb and flow.

Now, show me a wagon,
my thoughts are draggin’
and off this stint
I’ll go!

(smiles) Oh Virginia, this is sooooo cute and thoughtful at the same time, I love little ducks and chicks so so much, they are sooooo adorable and they look so cute following their moms! (kiss on cheek) Now time to turn this 0 to a 1, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!
