To Be Closer to You

I wish that I might share
this precious sunrise with you
It’s edged with strawberry clouds
and climbs with softest blue.

The green of sumac and pine,
of locust and of elm,
edges the blackened lace
that dances upon this realm.

Pink petunias stand in awe
among the grasses in the breeze;
sweet alyssum nestles all
in its coverlet supreme.

In the distance, a small plane
speeds the morning, passing by;
it’s my hope he stops to see
the wondrous glory, as he flies.

There must be some across this land
that are taking time like I,
soaking up the beauty of the morn
before all of them pass by.

May one of them be you
sipping from the morning’s grace,
that we may be closely drawn,
as these moments narrow space.

Thanks, all! I'm heading out for my daughter's this a.m. so will be sparingly here...she does have a computer, though we run about alot so I don't spend much time online, something like when I get to work.

Covet your thoughts for journey mercies.
