~*The Memories We Made*~

In a tropical villa, we gathered
poets, each with a passion
fourteen talented minds in one house
three bedrooms, two baths, had this bastion

togetherness was the rule of the day
and words flew fast and loud
but fourteen bodies in such small space
made quite and unwieldy crowd

hugs and warmth were everywhere
and joy filled each cranny and nook
gifts were exchanged, no one was shortchanged
no detail was overlooked

Marsha, Krissy and Keth
from across the sea, so far away
so utterly charming and gracious
were the hostesses of the day

Nan, the pilgrim from west Texas
thrilled us with double dactyls

Marge brought her warmth and talent
and her singing fiance, Bill

continued in part 2
