To Dwell in Capture

My heart is divided
with moments of him
captured in part, like love-me,
love-me-not petals
with hope, in the answers not given.
I understand what he thinks I don't.
I serenade myself in wishes,
each night a lullabye of him
to dream me through the night.
But when morning comes,
the truth shows its face,
mixed emotions overtake
and my heart divides
into smaller shares.

I have spelled upon him all I can.
I have reached for the impossible,
often inspired by words, so warm at times
that my heart melts into whole
and its rhythm skips a beat
so I can catch my breath,
feeling the magic of his touch, once again.

I believe that somewhere out there
is another like me...
One on one, one for one, not a temporary fix
but the kind as I once had before,
to last at least another 30 years
or until my end.

It will be my homecoming, a place in my life
where I fit in, where I am understood,
and understand back,
where temptation is ours to fulfill
mine to him and he to mine,
and where forever means exactly that.
It will be my rebirth, and I will be bound
by its perimeter to always be, to always love,
to face together all that comes our way,
to dwell in his capture, forever.

M

thank you BloomingRose for the inspiration of your response "Capture those moments that dwell in your heart"

So beautiful, the harmony of this piece...clarity...a calm searching.

I know that YOU don't know me - yet, and I just have to say that this was an excellent poem. Depth in its purest form.

Maureen, this is quite lovely, and beautiful, and totally WRONG! Don't do it! Don't look for your life and your identity in someone else-you have to be able to find strength within yourself and then share that strength with another, not captured but free together. Sorry, I know I pontificate too much, but I care about you.

M,
And then Nan shows up! Okay so my response has changed a little. You certainly deserve that committed relationship. You have earned it. But gotta say, I'm with Nan. When you are truly whole without another is when you are ready for another. (Said by one who hates being single!) Bless you sweet lady, always.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Hello, Maureen. The way you poured your heart out in this poem was excellent. I think that you got your feelings that are in your heart across very well. I just sense a feeling like the others do.....
I pray that God will send you someone who loves you like you deserve to be loved. It could be when you least expect it, like it was with me. I didn't plan to fall in love with my Gary. It was very unexpected. We were friends and confidantes first. I hope that you find your true love soon.
Love and Best Wishes to You,

You write so keenly from the heart Maur~
and that is what makes you stand out!

Happiness will find you, I'm certain of it.
In the mean time don't you be building any walls.

love and hugs~
